_____________
What are some memorable projects for you?
While working as a Graduate Assistant at Berry College, I helped dozens of students, alumni, and local businesses start companies and develop business plans and strategic plans for the future. I really enjoyed working with so many different types of people and companies to achieve their goals.
What lessons have you learned over your career?
Be in the right place, at the right time, with the right attitude. Nearly all of my career moves were not planned. From double majoring as an undergrad to becoming a Graduate Assistant at Berry College, most of my career and educational achievements were not the product of strategic planning, but making the best choice in the moment, then doing everything possible to make the best of the situation.
What made you choose your career path?
I have a strong desire to learn new things and never stay idle. Finding a path that offered the ability to grow my knowledge and skills in many different areas was very important to me.
Why did you choose to work for Greenfield Advisors?
Greenfield Advisors gave me the opportunity to take my skill set and utilize it across a variety of new fields. There are many new skills to learn and different applications to pursue.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Summerville, Georgia, a small town of 4,500 people where everyone knew everything about everyone else. My family was well-known in the area (three generations of Fire Chiefs), so my every move was tracked and reported back to family before I even made it to my destination.
What was your first job?
I was a teaching assistant while in high school, helping local elementary school teachers half of the day. I also served as scorekeeper and scoreboard operator for baseball and softball games while I wasn’t playing. Though, now that I think about it, I’m not sure I was ever actually paid!
What are your favorite ways to spend your free time?
Spending time with family, being outdoors and watching sports (mainly baseball and college football).
Tell us about your family.
My husband and I have been married for 3 years. We have a 160-pound Great Dane baby named Mowgli.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Elbow Cay in the Bahamas or Seacrest Beach in Florida.
What’s on your bucket list?
I want to watch a baseball game in each professional stadium. I have knocked off four this year, so I am slowly making progress.
What’s one habit you do on a daily basis?
My Great Dane Mowgli believes he is a cow. So, everyday my husband and I must walk him to Berry College to see the cows and let him watch over his people for at least an hour.
Give us a few surprising facts about you that people may not know.
I am a very competitive person when it comes to sports or games of any kind. I’m not allowed to play Perpetual Commotion or Hungry, Hungry Hippos anymore because I refuse to allow anyone else to win.
