We work hard at Greenfield Advisors to do the best work we can for our clients. We are proud of the good work we do, and we are always aiming to do better. However, we also aim to just “do good.”
Meet Seymour Pigg. He’s a kind, porcelain porcine that can be seen sitting around the Greenfield office in Seattle. In our weekly meetings he is quiet and thoughtful. Appraisals and reports and depositions are not his specialty.
Seymour is the head of our giving department. In the last few years he has helped us raise funds and collect items for numerous charities. Known as the “working pig” because of his vest and hat, he can often be found in our office where we are taking up donations for the latest charity drive.
Over the years, Seymour has inspired the team at Greenfield to donate to a wide variety of causes for Wellspring Family Services, a community organization working to help families in need in the Seattle area. Wellspring’s mission is to build emotionally healthy, self-sufficient families and a nonviolent community in which they can thrive, which is very much aligned with our own principles. Programs like Sweet Dreams, Ready to Learn, and others struck a chord with our employees who wanted to give back. Donations of pajamas, toiletries, books, and school supplies poured in from nearly everyone.
But don’t think there wasn’t at least a little bit of friendly competition going on. We had analysts battling to find the best deals on school supplies and backpacks so we could stretch our donated funds to help the most kids.
With the holidays just around the corner, Seymour has already been ironing his vest and getting ready for another big push. We’re looking forward to once again helping those less fortunate. If you’d like to make a difference, visit Wellspring Family Services today.
