During this holiday season, things are relatively quiet in offices throughout the United States, and Greenfield Advisors is no different. Rather than post new articles this week, I’d like to share some of our best articles of the year with you. Today, let’s look at some early articles from our CEO, Dr. John Kilpatrick.

Way back at the end of July this article attempted to shed light on areas of economic concern that he believed would be overshadowed by problems in the Eurozone as well as the “fiscal cliff.” He was bang on about those issues sucking all of the oxygen out of the news for anything else; it will be interesting to see if focus ever returns.

In this post from early October, Dr. Kilpatrick recapped a presentation he gave at this year’s annual meeting of the Appraisal Institute. In it, he gave an overview of advanced appraisal methods that put valuable new tools in the box of practicing appraisers everywhere.

I can’t help ending with a non-blog publication from this year: an opinion piece Dr. Kilpatrick had published in MODUS, a publication of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. In the piece, which can be downloaded here, he examines the difficulties in reconciling differing valuation standards from other countries. If you haven’t seen it before, check out our Journal Articles section for published pieces by many of our analysts.

New articles will resume in 2013. Happy Holidays from all of us at Greenfield Advisors
